TIPS, Inc. MAKES AVAILABLE A TESTING ENVIRONMENT TO FACILITATE YEAR 2000 TESTING FOR FIXED INCOME

Summit, NJ, January 7, 1998--TIPS, Inc. the developer of the SIA/PSA Standard Securities Calculation Software Library is introducing the Year 2000 Testing Environment for fixed income securities calculations. It was created to provide users with a way of comparing their own fixed income calculations with those in the SIA/PSA Standard Securities Calculation Software Library without programming.

The Testing Environment utilizes user created ASCII files that describe securities, desired calculations, and optionally the expected results and runs them through "industry standard" fixed income calculations, which are fully year 2000 compliant. The Testing Environment can be used for single calculations or batches of calculations. It can be set to produce "industry standard" results or to compare the users given results to "industry standard" results only flagging discrepancies. These features facilitate the testing of large volumes of user created test data in a fast and efficient manner.

This testing environment is used each time that TIPS, Inc. releases a new version of their software with thousands of pieces of test data on every platform that the Library is available on. This testing environment has been used and enhanced over the last ten years to cover most types of fixed income securities.
