Calculates the average life for a series of principal flow dates and amounts

This routine calculates average life from a given set of principal flows and corresponding dates. The average life is given in terms of the input frequency (avg_life_freq), which can be annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly.
Results:
The results is returned as the value of the function accurate to as many places as supported by a double precision value.
Error Conditions:
Returned values should be ignored for a non-zero status. See Errors.
